This is a photo of my tessellation that I had made. Making my own tessellation was pretty hard and then it got much easier. In my class were learning about tessellation. Tessellation has to have a repetitive pattern. I think my teacher should do this kind of work in our class all the time because it is very fun.
I am a Year 8 student at Glen Innes School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 11 and my teacher is Mrs Ramkolowan.

Shapes Game
In this game you have to put the correct shape in where it is meant to go. In this game you would have to know all your shapes. This game is not hard because you just have to drag the correct shape in the right place. I think my teacher should give me more harder work.
Tarte Tatin Part One
First we peeled our apples. After peeling the apples we cut it up into quarters. Next we cut the core of the apple off. Then we put soft brown sugar on top of the apples.

Dont play your music too loud. This upsets your mum and she will turn it down.

The Beach
One warm morning my family and I went to the beach. When we all got up we packed our swimming togs and packed up the car. On the way to the beach we could see the horizon.
When we went to the beach it was high tide. I was so happy that it was high because I don't like low tide. When we were all dressed in our togs we all raced into the water. The water was so calm and nice and warm. I started to swim out my mum told me not to go far. So I swam towards my mum doing some freestyle. My family and I were having swimming races and I kept losing.
I was watching this man stuffing on his board and then I saw him fall of his board. I tried to swim all the way to him but I could not see him. While I was trying to swim to the man salt walter went into my mouth. I so tired so I laid on my back. Five minutes later I was trying to scream to my mum “HELP” but she could not hear me. I put my hand up and I saw lifeguards coming toward me. The lifeguards took me back to my family.
I told the lifeguards about the man who fell off the surfing board. They went rushing out back into the water. In my head I think he is calling for some help. I said” to myself I hope he is alright’’. When the lifeguards came back on the boat they saw teeth marks of a shark. The lifeguard said to me he has being eaten by sharks because when they got there the shark went away. I was sad when I heard that he got eaten by shark. So that was his last day of his life.
The theme of this story is to be careful at a beach when you are surfing.

Reflection rotation and translation
In this game you have to know what is reflection rotation and translation. This game was challenging for me. The hard part in this game was to see if it was rotated. The easy part was that I knew when it was translated. I think our teacher should give us more games like this.

Last Day Of Sports Camp
WALT: write a narrative sports camp.
Ohh
Mr Hendricks barked out the instructions to clean up our dorms and pack our bags up. When the children finished packing their bags they had to put it in the center where everyone was sitting. Some children were lagging off the cleaning duties. When the children finished cleaning up they all had to meet in the same spot where the teachers and children put their bags. After that they picked up their own bags and carried it to where the bus would meet them.
Half hour after having so much fun on the slide finally the bus turned up. When the teachers loaded the bags into the back of the bus. After that children found them a seat on the bus and sat down. Off went the bus leaving the camp grounds. Going back to Glen Innes School in Auckland. On the way to School the tyres whirr and then one of them popped. The bus driver pulled over and check the tyres. The bus driver changed the popped tyre. It took the bus driver about 20 minutes. After that we were back on the road and off to school. We had a very awesome trip on the bus back to school.
Theme: There are always positive solutions to problems.

Travel Wise
These are two graphs that show how many good drivers and bad drivers there are. Some children went out with the Auckland transport people and the police to tell people to slow down around schools. There were more good drivers than bad drivers and that is very good. The speed limits around schools is forty and the good drivers that we pulled over gets a goodie bag and the bad drivers get a card which tells them to slow down around schools. It was very fun going out on the road with the Auckland transport people and the police.

Spin the paper clip
In this game we had to take turns by spinning the paper clip with the pencil in the middle. This game is fair because it was a 50 50 chances. When the game is not fair is when there is more red than green.I think everyone could get an equal chance of winning.
Kelvin was the lucky one because he chose 7 red and 13 green. When Kelvin and his partner Langa spined the paper clip they got 7 red and 13 green and that was the total at the end of the game. The fraction of red was three quarters and the fraction of green was only one quarter. We can write one half in a decimal like this 0.50 and in a fraction 100/50 and 50 %.

Bright Balloon's
In this game you had to look away and click which one would you choose out of red or blue balloon. This game was easy because all I had to do was look away and click on one of the balloon. At the end of this game you get to colour in the bear and the balloons. I think our teacher should gives us some more challenging game than this one.
The Vile Vendor
In this game you had to fill in the vendor machine with the cans. I had to make the cans an equal chance of getting a rusty nail drink. I had to play this game for two day until I knew how to play the game properly. When I got to understand the game it just got easier and easier. I like it when our teacher gives us more challenging maths games.

If you don't know how to swim try and learn yourself.
Tom Crashed
One day Tom went outside and played on his skateboard. Tom s mum told Tom to be careful on his skateboard.
Tom raced out of the house and Tom did not hear his mum so Tom decided to go to Jack’s house. Jack did not know that Tom was going to come over to his house. Tom asked Jack if he wanted to come from a skate to the park and Jack said”sure I would come for a skate with you’’. Jack went and told his mum that he was going for a skate with Tom and Jack’s mum said “yes that he could go.’’ Off went Tom and Jack going for a skate to the park.
Tom was racing down a very steep hill and Tom got so scared he did not know what to do. Tom jumped off his skateboard. When Jack saw Tom on the ground Jack spirited down the hill to see if Tom was alright. Tom had a lot of scratches and blood was squirting out of his skin. Jack and Tom had no water to clean Tom’s scratches and a lot of germs was getting into Tom’s skin.
Jack carried Tom back to his house to wash up his scratches. When Tom’s mum saw Tom injured she quickly got a wet cloth and started to clean up Tom’s scratches. After a while the blood stopped and then Tom’s mum covered it with some plasters. Tom’s mum said to Tom see I told you to be careful but you did not listen to me Tom started to laugh and Tom said to his mum “ok mum I will listen to you.”
The next day mum took Tom to the doctor and the doctor told Tom’s mum that he has a skin infection. The doctor told Tom to always clean your skin and take care of it. After that the doctor gave Tom’s mum a special cream so your skin can heal back up and be good as new. The doctor told Tom when you fall over always clean your skin so no germs can get into your skin.
If you have any sores always keep it clean.

Put Down
WALT: write a report/narrative.
On the twenty eighth August a twenty one year old sumatran tiger, Cantik had died at Wellington Zoo.
The tiger’s name was Cantik which means beautiful in Indonesia. Cantik came from Burger's zoo in the Netherlands in 1994. Cantik was loved at Wellington Zoo and she had twenty cubs. There are only about three hundred to four hundred Sumatran tigers in the wild. Tigers in the wild only live for about ten to fifteen years and in the zoo they live to about sixteen to twenty years but Cantik lived over twenty years. Cantik died from malignant adrenal tumors and severe arthritis.
I think animals should get receive euthanasia. If an animal is very ill they could just put them down and die in peace. I think Wellington zoo now should get some more Sumatran tigers and make them popular. I did not know the tiger so I would not miss the tiger.

Inspirational Person
My inspirational person is James Rolleston. He lives in Waihau Bay, in Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand. He is a actor. He was the lead actor in the movie, “Boy.” He is also the poster boy in the Vodafone advertisement.
James Rolleston lived on a small farm with his grandmother his brother Rocky and some of his cousins. James Rolleston always dreamed about Michael Jackson. James Rolleston acted fantastically in Boy. Therefore, the movie made the most amount of money of any New Zealand films. Although James Rolleston has much money he is not a show off. James Rolleston would rather watch war movies like Black Hawk Dawn and Saving Private Ryan and he would like to act in one of those movies.
James Rolleston does not understand all the fuss that is made about him. James Rolleston was just a school kid. A lot of people stop and ask James Rolleston if they could have a photo. All James Rolleston friends treat him normal. When he goes to the city James Rolleston tries not to look good because some people ask him if he is the boy. When people ask if he is boy James Rolleston gets pretty shy.
James Rolleston has inspired me by been a funny and young actor in the movie called Boy.

Fraction Game
In this game you had to count how many square cookies there are and write that as a fraction of the total number of cookies. Sometimes you could get an equivalent fraction answer like two quarters is equally to one half. This game was a bit easy because most questions were easy and somewhere a bit tricky. I only got three questions wrong out of sixty five questions. I think our teacher should give us some more games like this.

Mum stepped.....
Mum stepped.....
WALT: use better words.
Mum stepped out of the limo and walked onto the bright red carpet. Mum was so famous that the paparazzi were taking photos of her.
When mum was walking along the red carpet her high heel shoe broke. Mum ran back into the limo and speeded back home to get a new pair of high heels. Fortunately, Mum had many pairs of shoes. Mum felt very embarrassed when her high heels broke. She raced inside when she got home. When mum got inside the children were at the table drawing and dad was watching a game of rugby on TV. Then she was hunting for some of her high heels in her closet. Finally, she found a pair to match her outfit. Back she leaped into the limo.
The driver whizzed mum back to the red carpet. The new high heels were perfect for a walk down the red carpet. While she was walking down the red carpet she wore a brilliant smile and looked elegant in her outfit. When mum was at the end of the red carpet she was interviewed by Three news. Mum was on tv and luckily her high heels did not break on her this time. All the time the cameras flashed. After that mum went back in the limo and went back home. When mum got home her children said, “Mum, we recognized you on tv and saw you getting interviewed by three news.”
Mum flashed her tv smile and headed straight to dad. She showed Dad the award she received for being an inspirational mum.

Calculate The Area Of The Rectangle
This game is all about perimeter and area.In this game you had to calculate the area of this rectangle. The right answer is twenty. This game was easy because I could calculate the sum mentally. There was no challenge in this game because you have multiply 5 by 4. I think our teacher should give us games like this one but more challenging.

Add Decimals
In this game you had to add decimals. The answer in this game is A 6.2. When you get your answer correct you get to try and kick the ball in the goal. This game was a little bit challenging for me because I had to add the decimals mentally. This game is very good for me because I had to work fast to get a better score than my group members. I think our teacher should give our maths group more maths games like this.

Daily I go to the temple to pray to the Gods. After doing that I would hear news from my trusted vizer. After doing that I check the building sites which were built by my servants and officials. Finally my last duty would be like having a conversation with my wife or would be entertained by my servants.
