Hieroglyphic

  1. Hieroglyphics were written in tombs and temples.
  2. Only 1% of Ancient Egyptian population, could only read and write.
  3. Hieroglyphic were symbols to represent everyday objects.
  4. Hieroglyphic were  developed to calculate mathematical problems.
  5. The word hieroglyphic is Greek for sacred carving.
Scribes
  1. The scribes main tool was called a kalamos.
  2. The scribe is a Ancient Egyptian pen and was made from a six inch reed.
  3. Documents were later written only in black or red.
Papyrus
  1. It was hardly a coincidence that the first example of paper called papyrus.
